The Quran doesn't tell us very much about how the political processes of the faithful are to be arranged. It gives us a few clues such as verses that say mutual consultation amongst themselves. There is also a key clue in the manner by which the prophet's first successor, a man called Abu Bakr, came to power. That eventually becomes overwhelmed by Persian ideas of the absolute quasi divine ruler.
