When internet got formed, it was fairly easy sitting in 1999, 98 to foresee what it's going to do. And crypto is like a nice tweak on top of that. Why are these guys monopolies? Because they have like a database called MySQL on top of which all these users are living. They can tax it as much as they want because they have root privileges to the database.
