The Politics of Victimhood and Violence in Europe

I think what's one thing that will be interesting in the coming years, I think, is the relationship between the politics of victimhood and new forms of violence. The Islamist violence we've had in Europe, for example, over the past few years, particularly 2014 to 2017, 2018, has been a violent manifestation of the politics of Victimhood. And I do often wonder if there will be more expressions of that in the years to come. So I think the possibility that the woke sensibility in the sense of forcing people into themselves into a world of self-pity and a world of offence-taking could spill over into violent acts. But we'll see how that progresses.
