The First Lipid Drugs That We Learned About Back in the 70s

Niacin is an interesting drug. The first two lipid drugs that published randomized controlled outcome data were part of what they called the coronary drug project back in the 70s. Niacin and clofibrate failed in there to hit the primary endpoint. So niacin, finally the guidelines came around and said, look, sooner or later you gotta start believing the evidence. It's not in any current guideline. But on the work, you'll go to the internet and people love niacin.
