Do Humans Respond to Pheromones?
The Vomeronasal organ is a series of receptors that are sensitive to particular types of molecules like turtoferomones. It lies at the base of the nasal septum between the nose and the mouse, so it's kind of like at the sort of the back and middle of the nose. So if a smell triggers a behavioral change, that occurs through a process of the smell being detected by the receptors on the nasal membrane. The point is that behavioral changes mediated through smell occur through the mediation of the brain processing that information in a certain way.
