The elements too differ not only in size but in shape, appearing occasionally as oval cells united to each other at their sides. Only all the cocci are non-motile, though Brownian movement may readily be observed. 2. The bacilli consist of rods having parallel sides, and being longer than they are broad. Many of them are motile, others not. 3. This wavy thread group is divisible into a number of different forms which authorities have given special names.
