Lament Is the Sound of Hope in the Darkness
Lament is the practice of hope when all appearances suggest that hope makes little sense. Lament receives the word of god's covenant as the base line of reality. It evaluates the world through that matrix, begs god to make good on his commitment and almost always culminates in a confident, sole comforting confirmation that he will indeed keep his mises. By the psalms, the spirit trains our souls and he expands the horizons within which we conceive the world. So let us not neglect to enter the psalters stadium of virtue, this blessed means of god's grace to a people who are hungry for hope.
