Kubernetes for Data Mesh

The idea of data mesh is to actually building out something like Kubernetes. It's essentially a set of specifications that build around how our data structure the policies around that data, who can touch it and all that kind of stuff. Do you think do we have to have a central platform team? Can each team just act independently or do you still need to also ignore the question of kind of larger companies too?
