The Tension Between France and the State

France has eight different trade union federations. There are four or five different kind of police unions and some of them extreme, you radical and far right. The country is split in a rounded jagged way and three ways now. You have a very militant left for the most part. You have an increasingly hard and far right - it's difficult to distinguish one from the other. It's partly from the old socialist center that existed but no longer exists. So I'd say yes, what people have been telling me is that your opinion is no longer able to do so much as tell us how we should feel about things.
