What to Say When You Don't Have the Answer

What do you say when you don't have the answer to a question? And what can you say to make sure that the other person knows that you are onto it essentially, onto it. There's kind of a couple of phrases that we use a lot and we tend to just reuse them every single time. When we make promises like that or almost guarantees about things that we're going to do, we actually tend to use the future simple rather than the present tense.
