Orson Pratt was most vehemently opposed to Brigham Young's rationale in the 1852 legislative meetings citing Cain's curse as the reason why blacks should be enslaved. The very next year, 1853, he gives an alternate rationale for that which is this primortality rationale. He says, blacks receive bodies among the African Negroes in the lineage of Cain and whose descendants were cursed pertaining to priesthood because of something in the first estate.
