What Happened to Justice Frankfurter?
There is some evidence that it was really Justice Douglas who convinced Whitaker to go to the hospital. I do recall on Twitter here and have a nervous breakdown. Around the time that he was in the hospital, there was sort of this liberal coup at the court where Frankfurter lost a couple of other votes. So in the end, the decision actually wasn't very close at all.
