All you do is walk around and you have a character who auto fights. That's one of the core pillars of the game design of the genre. It was literally one dude who's now made well over, I think $5 million last time I checked from a game that he built in a couple of months. And now there are other bigger companies that are creating survivor likes because they know that it works. So if indies ever get starved out, triple A has become the same thing over and over again as they're too scared to innovate.
