The Tower of Babel in Mesopotamia
Verse four is one of the most important ones here, because it tells us why they built the tower. It kind of give three reasons, so that the top can reach into heaven, so it may reach unto heaven. And then second reason, so we can make a name for ourselves. We build this massive structure, people are going to know us. They're going to remember us. So there's already this idea that they were afraid of being scattered, of being separated. Most biblical scholars believe that the tower of babel was a zigarat - an enormous building made out of burnt bricks.
