Sima: There had been a decade long period of almost complete US disengagement from Narendra Modi when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat. Now that President Obama was in charge, his people reported to him that Modi's a rising star is most likely to win the elections and the US embassy is kind of being ignoring him. Nisha Biswal, who was the Assistant Secretary of State now, she is a Gujarati Indian, if you know. So she sensitized other officials and the White House that, look, he's going to win and the Americans then decided it's the verdict of the Indian people.
