A common criticism of people in Silicon Valley who say some version of the following sentence. My life's work is to build rockets. So you can't cut it off totally but if you're not willing to work really hard I think you do have to just cut it down a lot. If what you want to work on is like an ambitious company and you are competent you very likely can figure out a way to just work on that problem. Maybe it means you have to go be an employee at SpaceX instead of being Elon Musk.

Sam Altman expands on ideas that have come up in several of his essays. Specifically: choosing projects, creating value, and finding purpose.
