The Argument for the Universe Beginning to Exist
The form of the argument is quite impressively simple. The first premise is everything that begins to exist has a cause for its existence. The second premise is that the universe began to exist and the conclusion which logically follows is that it had a cause. And so together I think they provide very persuasive philosophical grounds for affirming the finitude of the past, and hence the beginning of the universe.
