Care Theory and Disability Studies Are Very Much About Interdependence, Relationality
Care theory and disability studies are very much about interdependence, relationality. The kind of independent living movement in disability studies was never about people just saying they want to be left alone. And I think it's something that the CRPD needs to try to carefully with as well. So both actually pushed towards this recognition of our embeddedness within these kind of networks and resource networks - pushing against any moves to privatise dependence and responsibility either within disabled people or within kind of care spaces.
