The Peace of Leningrad
Shostakovich finished the first three moments in Leningrad, but then agreed after much resistance to be evacuated with his family to Kubashev. The peace takes anywhere between 70 to 85 minutes to perform and calls for one of the largest orchestras possible. On modern stages it would seem to have been an impossible task to assemble this many musicians for a symphony. And yet they did. Here's a clip of Shostakovich playing the symphony on the piano.
