The Importance of Art

Rothko is not painting portraiture. He's got giant, huge canvases that are just this dense, rich color. And you look at it, you think, what the heck is that? It doesn't look like anything. With Rothko, he's trying to represent the kind of deep unconscious aspect to our, our humanity that we're inclined to forget about in our over rationalization.
