The Rise and Fall of Sherlock Holmes

The term comes from an old Mac OS eight app that was bundled with the operating system called Sherlock. Third party company came along and built the app called Watson charge 30 bucks for it. It extended upon everything that show up to it, but at least they got paid for it. And so people have kind of latched onto this phrase.
