Introduction

Jerome Pazente was VP of AI at Meta, which is one of the most exciting places where AI research is happening. He's had a long career and seen a ton of different applications and lots of change in the state-of-the-art in machine learning. "I think this is a trend that everybody is following: size, multi-modality, more data, more self-supervision," he says. But there are still problems to be solved with large language models like Blenderbot or Alexa.
