I think the money to adventure ratio is a really important thing to look at as well. I spent quite a lot of time chasing a million pounds for an expedition to the South Pole. But then I also spent four years cycling around the world and spent seven thousand pounds. For example, you could just right now get a little rucksack on your back and a raincoat and empty out whatever's left in your fridge and then walk 400 miles from your front door.
