The Griswolds: A True Story
The Griswolds drove from suburban Chicago, Evanston to the fictional Wally world in Southern California. The original script sent the family through the Southeast, but Harold Ramis correctly decided this wasn't especially scenic. To get the necessary footage, they embarked on an epic thousand mile journey with a hundred people crammed into a 300 foot caravan of vehicles,. moving six times in seven weeks and shooting at 15 locations across four states.
