The Importance of Insulin Sensitivity

Insulin sensitivity really comes down to when you eat a meal, depending on what macronutrients you've consumed. Fat has the most negligible impact on blood sugar and subsequently insulin, then protein, then carbohydrates. When your insulin levels remain high, you are not able to tap into fat stores for energy. Over time, if insulin is overworked, your cells will actually get resistant to the lock and key mechanism that goes on with this hormone.
