"In a lot of ways, it feels like a little prototype of the ways in which white women engage in colonialist projects," she says. "It allows you to cast yourself as the hero somehow, right? Because, li obviously these people are totally inferior to us, but you know, it is worth educating them, right?" She adds that we should not look for heroes in history because there will be a point at which they diverge from our views.
