Ezra asks for a little reviving in this bondage. The phrase that always haunts me is from romans. When paul speaks of despising the goodness of god, some translate that as to presume upon his grace. And so ask for no more grace than what you need to be forgiven. No less either, but do not begin to presume upon the lord's grace. Don't waste any of it. I love how how careful ezra is being about measuring the the mercy seat. He doesn't want it to hang out so far over the edges of the ark of the covenant that it's all that so much of it is going to waste. This word comes
