Lacan's Hegelian Thoughts
I was really kind of shocked at sort of how Hegelian he is. And I think it's more true than he himself thought. He learned philosophy basically from Alexander Kojev, who taught a seminar in France in the 30s and taught all these people like Merlot Ponte, Betai,. All these well-known thinkers. But back to Lacan, one thing that kind of struck me as very fascinating - you could probably speak to this a lot better than I can because I'm sort of ignorant of a lot ofdialectics. It's my idea that he really becomes Hagelian at the point when he thinks he's breaking from him.
