The Origins of the National Parks in Bolivia

The first national park in Bolivia, I think was Sahama, which is its giant volcano on the Chilean border. And so we kind of went into this vacuum and of course, you know, they want you to teach courses. They want you to advise students. It's kind of hard to, to turn down. When I came back as a prominent employee in the 1990s, I had a budget. Not any money without any park guards, but at least you had something there on paper many times they were in remote areas or they were a mountain. Now there's literally hundreds of biologists in the country and botanist, zoologist, entomologist who are all passionate about conservation
