It's Not Just In Your Head
The Importance of Creative Direct Action
I think one of our most successful protests was we were protesting to try to get midwifery rights in the Yale New Haven Hospital. We had a bleed-in for women with their period, that also got media attention. When we instructed a whole bunch of mothers, and it would be hard to arrest us, came with our toddlers,. And we went into the governor's office and the legislative offices and left huge mess along with the press. I think anything like that, whether it's pregnant mothers or people who are directly impacted by particular injustice is perfect examples of creative direct action.
