I try to use my position as a publisher to champion the work of female writers. Women deserve more respect and should reclaim their voices in our society. Things are a bit better now than they were in the darkest days, but it's still not enough. The challenge is we are one united people in Iraq. We can't even afford a liter of kerosene for our heating. And this is an oil-rich country. There is no money for hobbies or fun. Just work, then bed, then do it all again. You are running just to stand still"
