The Challenges of Partnering With a Bank
The knock-on effect of that, as you say, is much more strategic than it is financial. It varies on the group, especially within banks. Some really have the financial focus and their division similar to a private equity arm or traditional fund managers. They're just seeking an alternative asset class and exposure. But many of them, including those you mentioned, David, really take a partnership approach. And it's a very different value proposition to the start of founder. However, it's important not to put aside that working with the bank does have its challenges.
