Is There a Physical Event That Happens Without the Sheod?

In the good times, when it's just te the sheod, the person that is taken becomes an alantrian with a like ight body. Instead of turning you into a beautiful, angelic like character, you become kind of deathly. They're almost like walking corpses, yes? But so when this event happens to them, that grants them the ability to access the door, so they become able to do magic. It does seem different then we see a investiture working on other planets. Yet, the one key aspect that is missing in my mind when it comes to the sheod is a form of breaking of torture, of difficulty, that is kind of like acstasy
