The Born Rule in Pilot Wave Theory
In pilot wave theory, the born rule is not a law on axiom. Just as in classical physics, you don't have to have thermal equilibrium. It can happen that in equilibrium, probabilities happen to coincide with an magnitude square of the wave. But in general, the wave is a physical thing. I mean, it's a strange physical thing. It exists on configuration space, but it's pushing the particles around. And yes, that's right. You're not tied to the born rule in this theory - which brings me back to this controversy.
