Casey Parks - A Lesbian's Journey
casey parkes grew up in rural louisiana, where her family and faith were the most important things in her life. But when she came out as a lesbian, her mother shunned her and her pastor asked god to kill her. She thought her life in the south was over for good but then her grandmother pulled her aside and confessed that her grandmother grew up across a street from a woman who lived as a man and was known as roy. Parks follows the mystery of a stranger's past, and in the process, has to reckon with her own sexuality, fraught southern identity and challenging relationship with her mother.
