Is the EU ETS Going to Fall to Zero by 2040?

If you have an emissions reduction credit with a corresponding adjustment attached, what you have effectively is a quasi-compliance credit. The EU ETS cap is going to fall to zero already by 2040. It means that European industry will not be able to emit a single ton of CO2 beyond 2040. So I think it opens up enormously productive and suggestive possibilities for the future.
