The Origin Story of Learning Japanese
I think especially when I started the basic default assumption is still that the only way to learn a language is you have to consciously memorize it and take classes. So many people out there that are advocating a more natural content, input based approach that I think maybe we've kind of forget the origin story sometimes. And also for that initial lazy kanji around, katamoto called it lazy Kanji. It was definitely a reaction to the dominant style of thinking at the time.
