The First Step to Learning to Read Synodoki

Our very first understanding of a poem or indeed of a line from Shakespeare is an unconscious understanding. We get that feeling and it's very similar to Deja Vu for me, where we know what is being said, but we cannot articulate it. Sometimes we need to dispense with the hyperactive brain and just let what is in front of us be. This is the first step to learning to read symbolism, say, or really difficult figurative language like synodoki. And if we do this enough time, we unlock meaning, which leads on to my next reading goal for you. Which is to make chanting a focal point or a key activity in your reading practice over the next year.
