A Brief History of Assyria
Senacharib's goal had been to utterly destroy babylon, and he had succeeded. Even by the dards of the time, this action was considered excessive. The war in babylon seems to have drained something king senacherib. After destroying the ancient city, he no longer seems to have had any appetite for war. He settled down in the city of nineveh and named it his new capital.
