Seneca argues that even the longest lapse of time contains nothing that you would not find in one day. He quotes Heraclitus and says it's okay if you're going to die tomorrow. If what's really important is virtue, then as long as you're not sleeping through the day, everything that is really important is right there. You don't need it to be there tomorrow.
