The Importance of Tradition
Edmund burke was an irish political philosopher. Was a huge advocate of the revolutionary changes in india during his lifetime. He didn't think that whatever this thing called society is, it shouldn't just be relegated to whoever is alive now and whatever material things they want the government to guarantee for them. To burke, it's something that's roots extend deep throughout the entire history of that culture you're a part of. Any contract we have needs to consider everybody who's come before us, and also everyone who's yet to be born.
