Saul and David, Two Men Who Are Going in Completely Different Directions
Saul has been rejected by god. Life is in a downward path. And david's life has been blessed by god, and he's successful in all he does. The the hearts of israel are with him, celebrating the victories that god is giving him. Saul's angry. He's discouraged. Look at verse 12 of chapter 18. Saul was afraid of David because the lord was with him, but had departed from saul. There it is. We find ourselves in this moment where there's still this juxtaposition betweenDavid and saul.
