"Every medical resident in history it's the first thought I had actually when you said that which was every night of call," he says. "I used to use this really heavy paper tape and tape the pager to my head my forehead at full volume because you would get both the sound to your ear and then you'd get the transmission through the bone but imagine laying in bed with tape wrapped around your head holding a pager on your forehead in anticipation of what's coming not knowing when it's coming"
