A former Jehovah's Witness had been sexually abused as a child. She'd sued the religious organisation in the High Court for failing to protect her. It was the first case of its kind in Britain and the young woman at its heart knows exactly how the Witnesses have failed children. But she is anonymous so we can't track her down, but with help from her lawyer, I managed to get in touch. Darya grew up in the Midlands; like many Christian groups, the Jehovah's Witnesses are extremely patriarchal. They believe that men have authority over women.
