God's Infinite Subsistence Being
If you just think about it for a while, divine simplicity sounds really implausible. That's the worry. To explain what I mean, let me set the stage by talking about some non-divine being, like Socrates. He has powers such as the power to know and the power to will, but he is not identical to those powers. There's more to him than his knowing power, so therefore he can't simply be that power. And likewise, mutonsus mutonsus for his willing power. They are two distinct powers. If God is simple, things look different and rather strange.
