The Mendel Effect
The mendel effect is a theory that the internet has distorted our memories. Every time you remember something, you are essentially playing telephone with past versions of yourself and the connection is nowhere near as good as it might appear. The further away you get from that moment in time, the less reliable your memory becomes. There's a disturbing video right now on Youtube showing people who have been falsely convicted or confessing to crimes they did not commit because of psychological manipulation during an interrogation process. It just degrades what we think we're remembering.
