Episode XVIII - The Ottoman Empire

The ottomans broke into europe in the mid 15 hundreds and planted their flag over a huge chunk of the balkans. The dynamic of an aggressively revolutionary france now created an alliance between erstwhile rivals, prussia and austria. Not unlike some of the assumptions on the eve of world war one, both sides calculated that the war in 17 92 would be quick and easy. Instead, it opened up 23 years of near continuous warfare that remade europe again.
