I Just Let Him Feel the Emotions
My climbing partner froze. The only way that he would walk is if he was sort of pushed and jollied along, or or rather, pulled from the guide and pushed from behind as well. So i just sat with him and helped calm him down. Human touch is really powerful. It's our most primal form of comfort. If you just have your hand on the shoulder, or some on some one's shoulder, you just need a human presence,. Then i just let him cry. And sob, i got him water, and i just sat there with him and let him feel things. Once the emotion had burnt itself out, that's when i started to try gently, not talk
