There's an inherent conservatism in psychoanalysis, because the logic of conservatism is that things can always be worse. There are rights, existing rights that you might lose if you get ideas above your station. And this is being used now in a different way by the transphobic movement,. which is essentially saying, you know, you might want to be nice to trans people, but they're a threat to women's rights.
