The Uncertainty of Consciousness
How do we rule out the possibilities that what you call feelingness is actually just one degree on the scale? How can we even have a vague idea of that? So, again, to an extent, I want to agree that there's a lot of uncertainty here. There doesn't seem to be a difference of degree between some sort of subjective consciousness and nothing at all. Those appear to be discontinuous with one another. But I'd be open to being persuaded by Eric Schritzkevel who will talk about could there be something in between conscious and non-conscious. He says he doesn't think he can actually say what it would be like.
